I have recently been commissioned by the Health Inequalities Pool (HIP) to carry out some development work, which will support me in my existing role as a volunteer rep for the Manchester community and voluntary sector on the Food Futures Strategy, plus enable existing capacity building of the Pool, in order to enable the sector to have a greater influence in deciding the future of food in Manchester.
The main activities of the capacity building wok are to include:
- Strengthening partnership working between HIP eps on the Food Futures board;
- Establishing 'terms of reference' to identify and clarify roles and responsibilities of FF reps;
- Initiate and develop new ways of sharing ideas and good practice on improving food and health between the HIP and FF;
- Establish a food and health subgroup of the Health Inequalities Pool, for those members that are interested in this issue.
