Earthworm Housing Co-op website launch

Old black and white photo of Wheatstone House

Earthworm is a radical housing co-op, situated at Wheatstone House, in Leintwardine, rural Herefordshire. As well as a rambling old house, the co-op owns a large barn with a converted flat, a smaller coach house, and several acres of land. The outside spaces are used for communal gatherings, growing veg, orchards and woodland. One of our favourite spaces is a grey water (or "willow bed") treatment system.

The website is built using Backdrop CMS which is a "fork" of Drupal 7, and is a clean and simple system for clients who are looking for a light weight solution. The site is rich in text and imagery, which is great to peruse and learn about the history of the building and the people who have lived there over the years. Earthworm provided us with a tonne of photos which we have used lavishly around the site. Despite this there were a load left over, so we created a double revolving slide-show on the front page, which displays two sets of images side by side.

You can view Earthworm's website here, and if you are interested in alternative living yourself, then we recommend you check out the Membership section of the site. You never know, the Co-op might be just the thing you have been looking for all your life .. ?
