We've finished building a new website for Co-operatives West Midlands, which is a membership based organisation providing support for co-operatives and co-operators in the region.
The site was built with Drupal CMS and makes extensive use of the open source CiviCRM which has been installed on top of the CMS. Previous to this, Co-ops West Midlands had a Wordpress site, but they commissioned this new site to facilitate their new paid membership structure. We have thus utilised CiviCRM's built in membership functionality to provide three tiers of membership: Individual, Organisation, and Supporter. Prior to building the new site they were using third party services to send mailings to their members, but they are now able to manage contacts and keep in touch with them in house using CiviCRM's inbuilt mailing features.
We were very pleased to build the site on behalf of Co-operatives West Midlands, who we feel share many of our own values around co-operative enterprise, open source software, community, and environment. We hope the new site will provide many benefits for them, and their members long into the future!
