Introduction

Data used by our xSite.ing mobile app is stored by the https://clapton.tradersassociation.co.uk website, and is also cached locally on your mobile device to increase performance. The data that we store is minimal, and includes your name and email address for authentication purposes. We also store data on your Local Credit balance within the Clapton Community Way programme, along with information on how you purchased the credit, and how you have used it. 

How is the information used?

The data we gather in this way is used to improve our website for the future, and specifically to:

  • Contact you in response to a specific enquiry
  • Send you communications which you have requested in the form of occasional e-news bulletins.
  • Local Credit data is essential for the operation of the app when you make purchases at shops and businesses participating in the Community Way programme.   

We will only send you information about our work by email where you have given us your consent to do so.

Security

We place great importance on the security of your personal information and we always try to take appropriate precautions to protect it.

We maintain our own server and monitor its security regularly. The server is installed behind a locked door with access restricted to individuals known to us.

The site uses secure server software (SSL) with 128-bit encryption: the industry standard for secure commercial transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including financial details, names and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet.
